SolidWorks offers a range of certification levels to validate proficiency in its powerful 3D CAD software. These certifications help professionals demonstrate their skills and expertise in using SolidWorks for various design and engineering tasks. The main certification levels include CSWA (Certified SolidWorks Associate), CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional), and CSWE (Certified SolidWorks Expert), each designed to assess a deeper understanding of the software's tools and capabilities for different user skill levels.

The CSWA certification is awarded to individuals who pass the official SolidWorks exam, which tests your ability to create parts, assemblies, and drawings using essential SolidWorks tools. This includes working with sketch entities, features like extrudes and revolves, applying materials, using reference geometry, and building accurate mechanical drawings.

Sketch entities such as lines, rectangles, circles, arcs, ellipses, and centerlines
Sketch tools like offset, convert entities, and trim
Applying sketch relations and using dimensions accurately
Creating 3D features including extrudes, revolves, sweeps, and lofts
Adding fillets, chamfers, and using linear, circular, and fill patterns
Setting feature conditions for start and end
Calculating mass properties and applying materials
Inserting components and using standard mates like coincident, parallel, perpendicular, tangent, concentric, distance, and angle
Using reference geometry (planes, axes, and mate references)
Creating drawing views and adding clear annotations
The official exam is 3 hours long and simulates real-world design tasks to ensure you're fully prepared to apply SolidWorks in professional environments.
At CAD CAM Teacher, we offer both in-person and online training using advanced simulation tools—giving you a real-lab experience from home. If you want to get certified or need help choosing the right training, just contact us.
